Amguri is a town and a Municipal area committee in the Sivasagar district in the state of Assam,India. Amguri is located in the state of Assam,in north-east India. It has an average elevation of 74 metres (242 feet).It is a beautiful town situated on the bank of river Jhnaji.Amguri is famous for its surroundings Tea Gardens and oil field.Amguri is situated near river Jhanji and surrounded by Tea gardens from all sides. There are so many clubs and other organizations for development of Co-Curricular Activities for Amguri.Puberun is the most renowned social organization within Amguri. Another social organization Mahabahu is under Govt. of India’s Sports and Youth affairs is doing beautiful work for the people of Amguri. There is Amguri Sports Association, Maruawari Yuva Manch and other students organization are also visible in Amguri.

•  Cess Pool Cleaner for cleaning of waste materials of the sanitary latrines.

• Permission to construct House in Amguri Municipal Areas.
• Trade License to do business in Amguri Municipal Areas.
• Construction and repairs of Roads and Drains of Amguri Municipal Board Areas under different Government schemes and own funds.
• Permission to hang hoardings in Amguri Municipal Board Areas.
• Providing latrines to BPL families under Swaccha Bharat Mission.

Projects & Schemes: 

The different schemes under Amguri Municipal Board are:-

(a)15^th Finance Commission Grant:-

Under this scheme development of roads,drains,water supply,street lighting and schemes under Solid waste management are undertaken.

(b)Swachh Bharat Mission(Urban):-

Under this scheme Solid waste management,construction of IHHL,latrines and cleaning of town is done.

(c)IGNOAP:-

Under this scheme Old Age Pension, Disability Pension, Widow Pension, Unmarried Pension, One time financial assistance to widow are given.

(d)PMAY(U):-

Under this scheme PMAY(U) houses are given to tax payers within Amguri Municipal Board area.

(e)NULM(U):-

Under this scheme Self Help Groups are formed,financial assistance are given to SHG’s for self-dependency,loan are given to street Vendors and shop for better livelihood’s etc.
