Rehabilitation Grant (RG) :

Rehabilitation Grant means a lump sum amount for each of the affected families, whose house and household properties are burnt / damaged due to man-made violence and natural calamities. Each and every civilian, who is affected in man-made violence and natural calamities that may occur in the State, is entitled to receive Rehabilitation Grant.

The guidelines / instruction regarding payment of Rehabilitation Grant are clearly mentioned in the Assam Disaster Management Manual, 2015.

All Deputy Commissioners are the competent authority to accord sanction of G Rehabilitation Grant.

Rehabilitation grant to all those whose dwelling houses are fully burnt / damaged due to due to acts of terrorist /extremist / miscreants or during communal / ethnic / group clashes irrespective of the nature of land rights / title over land.

2. Rehabilitation grant to all those whose dwelling houses are partially burnt / damaged due to due to acts of terrorist / extremist / miscreants or during communal / ethnic / group clashes irrespective of the nature of land rights / title over land. Rs.22,000.00

Details of RG admissible as per existing norms in respect of man-made violence are as under-

  • Pucca (other than huts) where the damage is at least 15 %
  • Kutcha (other than huts) where the damage is at least 15 %

4. Damaged / destroyed huts:

Rs.4,100/- per hut

(Hut means temporary, make shift unit, inferior to Kutcha house, made of thatch, mud, plastic sheets etc. traditionally recognized as hut by the State/ District authorities.)

Note: -The damaged house should be an authorized construction duly certified by the Competent Authority of the State Government.

5. Cattle shed attached with house Rs.2,100/- per shed.
