District Employment Exchange
About:
The Employment Exchange works to give employment opportunities to the unemployed youth. It falls under SEED and mainly provides registration to the youth that are seeking for employment .This will ultimately lead the citizens of the country to get empowered and be self-reliable. An Employment Exchange is a Non-Profit organization that provides business assistant based on skill and experience. The Departments of Employment in India, allows several state’s jobless educated youngsters to pre- register for upcoming job openings in their respective state’s division. The Employment Exchange of Sivasagar was established in the year 1984 and is currently headed by Assistant Director of Employment Exchange . Earlier the process of registration in Employment Exchange was through offline mode. But now the registration in employment exchange is done via online mode by Aaddhar Based verification method. Some other roles of the Employment Exchanges are to provided Vocational Guidance and Career Counseling. The Jobseekers and students can seek guidance and get information from the Vocational Guidance units at Employment Exchanges. The University Employment Information and Guidance Bureau (UEI & GB) also helps them to plan their careers. The Employment Exchange and the UEI &GB also holds various Career Conference and Fairs to benefit job searchers.

The Department is responsible for Implementation & Enforcement of Compulsory Notification of Vacancies Act- 1959 & Rules 1960

Other than that 120 Nos. of Candidates provisionally selected for placement in various (Technical and Non-Technical) post of a Navratna Company, Oil India Limited, Duliajan. They were the registered jobseekers under District Employment Exchange, Sivasagar. The selected candidate’s documents verification is under process this month as per letter no. HRAQ/VER-WP-O/22-4315 dated 5th September 2022. Another 45 nos. candidates got elected for placement post of Jr. Engineer, Oil India Ltd, Duliajan from this Office.
Citizen Services:
The Employment Exchanges Provide Employment Exchange Registration Card, Un-Employment Certificate, and Employment Certificate of Local People, Sponsor of Apprentice Training & Vacancy (both public & private) as per Implementation & Enforcement of Compulsory Notification of Vacancies Act- 1959 & Rules 1960. The Employment Exchange also undergoes Career Counseling and Vocational Guidance program both in institutes and own office premise.
In the District Employment Exchange a total of 41349 nos. of application have been registered via ARTPS portal from 7th Oct 2022 to 05th Nov 2022.
