In the year 1999 the Zonal Office, Sivasagar under the Directorate of Archaeology, Assam was established at Na-Pukhuri Archaeological Site, Rudrasagar, SivasagarDistrict. Under the jurisdiction of this Zonal Office have total 51 no.s of Archaeological Sites of Golaghat, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Charaideo, Dibrugarh, Tinisukia, Dhemaji and Majuli districts.

Project & Schemes:

1. Conservation of Devi Doul, Namti, Sivasagar District under the scheme Maintenance & Renovation of Archaeological Sites & Monuments of Assam, under EE for the year 2021-22.
2. Conservation of Vishnu Doul, Kaloogaon, Sivasagar District under the scheme of Renovation and Maintenance of Vishnu Doul Archaeological Site, Kaloogaon, Sivasagar District.
3. Infrastructure, Protection & Preservation of CharaideoMaidams Archaeological Site under SOPD-G for the year 2019-20.
4. Garhgaon Capital Rampart Archaeological Site, Garhgaon, Sivasagar District under the Scheme Development of Archaeological Sites & Monuments &Sattras of Assam, under SOPD-G for the year 2021-22.

Recent Achievements:

1. Successfully completed conservation work of JagadhartiDoul, Kaloogaon, Sivasagar District.
2. Successfully completed conservation work of Golaghar, Garhgaon, Sivasagar District  under the scheme Development of Archaeological Sites & Monuments &Sattras of Assam, under SOPD-G for the year 2021-22.
3. Successfully completed conservation work of Vishnu Doul, Namti, Sivasagar District under the scheme Maintenance & Renovation of Archaeological Sites & Monuments of Assam, under EE for the year 2021-22.
